Prosecutors have charged The Shield actor Michael Jace with murder after his wife was shot and killed Monday in the couple's Los Angeles home.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday that Jace, 51, is charged with one count of murder with a gun allegation. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday for the first time and prosecutors will ask that his bail be set at $2 million.
Jace -- who portrayed a police officer for six years on the crime drama The Shield -- called 911 on Monday evening. The body of his wife April was found inside the couple's residence and the couple's two young sons were also in the home.
If convicted of murder, Jace could face 50 years to life in prison.
