Richard Kiel dead at 74: James Bond 'Jaws' actor died in California hospital


The hulking, 7-foot-2 actor who famously appeared in the 007 films 'The Spy Who Loved Me' and 'Moonraker' died in a Fresno, Calif. hospital after breaking his leg last week, TMZ reports.

Richard Kiel, famously known for his role as the steel-toothed villain "Jaws" in the "James Bond" movies, died Wednesday at the age of 74,TMZ reported.

It's unclear if his death is related to that injury.

In Kiel's Hollywood career spanning five decades and dozens of films and TV shows, the Detroit native played everything from an alien invader in "The Twilight Zone" to a fake ghost on "Gilligan's Island" to a brief appearance as the Incredible Hulk in the 1970s TV series.
